Principal
Mr. Christopher Browne has dedicated more than four decades of his
life in the field of education. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the National
Council for Educational Research & the Training (NCERT) as well as a member on the Standing
Committee and Awarding Committee of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations,
New Delhi.
He has also held the prestigious position of principal of The Frank Anthony
School, Bangalore for fifteen years.
Mr. Browne is sensitive to the needs of the student community and is attentive to the aspirations of parents and guardians. He believes strongly in the quality education and holistic development of our student body. With his aptitude, commitment, and counselling skills, he is certain to bring out the best in every student of Redbridge International Academy.
Interestingly, he is an accomplished guitarist, vocalist and harmonica enthusiast and perhaps through a calling switched to full-time teaching in 1976 when he started his career at the prestigious and renowned residential educational institution, Barnes School in Devlali, Nasik District, Maharashtra. He moved to the popular co-educational day school, The Frank Anthony Public School, Ulsoor, Bangalore in 1980, where he spent the next thirty years of his life!
Mr. Browne had a meteoric rise in his teaching career, becoming, possibly, the youngest Principal in Bangalore at the time of his installation.
He was appointed Headmaster in 1991 and Principal in 1994.
During his teaching career he taught Mathematics, Physics and Computer Studies and had the distinction of presenting the first batch of Computer Studies students for the ICSE Examinations in the late 1980's. He was also an ICSE examiner in Physics for several years!
Mr. Browne served on one of the most prestigious committees in the country- a member on the Executive Committee of the National Council for Educational Research and Training, NCERT.
He has also shouldered several other important responsibilities on behalf of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), New Delhi.
He has also served on the Board of Management of schools in India and the United Kingdom.
Mr. Browne is the epitome of the Heart-Head-Hand coming together harmoniously to bring out the best in everyone, be it his students or staff.
He understands and appreciates that it is only through the holistic development of Body, Mind and Spirit, that we can create and nurture a learning culture that believes in change through education. A culture in which we can produce well-rounded, independent, mature, thoughtful, open-minded and compassionate individuals who will go on to contribute effectively to society and play a positive and responsible role in contributing to the progress of the Nation in the changing global environment.
Under his stewardship and leadership, several of his students have won awards in their respective fields of endeavour at the National and International arena.
Mr. Browne always encouraged his scholars to join the armed forces; many have, and are highly decorated officers and national heroes. Many others joined the civil service or became space scientists, engineers, doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, national and international sports men and women, actors, stage artists, musicians, Grammy nominees, Khel Ratna's, Arjun Awardees and even beauty queens!
Mr. Browne has in his own words always reiterated, "I don't consider MY achievements as achievements. Rather, to me, it is my students' successes and accomplishments that are achievements in the truest sense. Their capability, talent and skill, attainment, proficiency and professional competency is what has always been the most fulfilling and uplifting feeling and reward I have ever desired and yearned for as a humble teacher.
When I reflect on my life today, I feel justifiably proud of my achievements.
God knew best, He always gets everything right!
Music was and still is my passion but teaching has brought me fulfillment, happiness and joy, beyond all imagination!"
